You know, I saw this at tumblr and I was blown away. I loved the original artwork, and I loved the fic that was written to it, and I absolutely adored this photo. The mask is gorgeous, the pose is so exact and the overall FEEL of it is just like in the original artwork. I love everything about this.
And also, it inspired me. I'm totally going as a version of a wolf for Halloween. I even bought a bat. It will not ever reach the badassness that is this image, but still, it might be fun.
Seriously, though. This is one of my alltime favourite images. Of ALL TIME. Considering I have around 40000 images just saved on my computer, that's probably saying a lot ... You've done such great work with this, and I'm thoroughly (how is that even spelled?) impressed.
thank you so much! I'm in love with that art work and that fic. I've messaged CreatureXIII to ask if she's planning to sell it as an etsy print or anything like that. I'm -dying- to have a copy of it on my wall *sighs* But as of now, that's still unanswered. Fingers crossed!
Oh awesome!! When you do it, please post pictures! Hell, do a full out photo shoot of it! ((Almost every time I take the time to make props, it's because I want to use them in a photo shoot, lol))
Aww, thank you so much! I do that too. Just save pictures of everything I love and am inspired by? I have an entire hard drive full of them. So thank you! that means a lot to me! <3<3
Oh, it just clicked that you were the one who wrote me on tumblr just now! Duh! That's what happens when you check tumblr before deviantart, I suppose ... I didn't understand that it was YOU! I'm all happy inside now!
Also, yes, fingers crossed on the print thing. I hope she (or he?) will do it. But hey, you have THIS image - that's just as awesome! Surely you have printed it and put it on your wall??
And alas, I probably won't do any photo shoots ... but there MAY be some kind of picture evidence. Maybe. My mask is made out of leather though, and not painted, so it's not really anything like this one. This one is amazing - what did you use to make it, anyway? The mask, I mean.
I honestly don't know if they're a he or a she. that happens around most of the people I talk about on tumblr. I don't know why, but I tend to read their posts and assume if it's a girl or a boy, when I have no actual way of knowing which way it goes, lol. Vague context clues that actually mean nothing because the gender binary is stupid? Lol, I still have to get this one printed out and on my wall. My best friend used to go to an art school, and she printed all my stuff for me, but she's since graduated, so I need to figure out another way to get it done. Walmart makes everything yellow, and I'm kind of in the middle of no where, when it comes to options. but I want!
[link] Here's a post I did about how I made the mask, including some pros and cons to how I did it, lol. I'd love to see yours too!!
Thank you for linking me to that post on how you made the mask. It's actually similar to how I've made masks in the past (I also used tape and paper clay etc for the Horus mask), although I haven't used varnish. It looks awesome, though! The sofa upholstery tacks were a nice touch, I would have never thought of that!
