Many comic book artists use live models for scenes.  Innovation Comics produced The Vampire Chronicles, Interview with The Vampire to Tales of the Body Thief, using several models.  In some cases, two or more for the same character.  Translating scenes from comic books to movie or television is challenging, not always successful.
